Okyeame Quophi and Okyeame Quame to come back again

Okyeame Quophi is the sort of guy a lady can take home or anywhere for a platonic bliss and has that infectious smile that goes with it. He also happened to be a modest person who appreciates good things: clean shaves, neat dressing and very romantic.

In fact for someone to become a radio presenter demands intelligence, co-ordination, sense of humor, proficiency, creativity and ability to withstand pleasure.

These are qualities that hold Quophi on.  His entrance to the music scene as a presenter was not by a chance, but a decision that baffled any doubting Thomases because right at his hay days as a singer/rapper he had the passion to become a broadcaster

He started his career in broadcasting with Luv Fm the elite station of Osiekrom as an after “Drive Time” presenter way back in 1998 before becoming the substantive presenter of that program, at the same time he together with his “twin” brother Okyeame Quame had release that platinum blockbuster all hit album Masane Ba in 1996 followed by Obi Yere Ye Obi Mpena before their sojourn in the USA for what apparently they have to answer.

On their return home under their armpit was another album called Apam Fofro which didn’t do quite well in the market.

We thought they would have longevity after their arrival but that wasn’t the case. The catastrophe of break up stirs them but Quophi decided to play the fast one on me. Hear him; “nothing happened to us we decided to exploit our other individual talents elsewhere” he told Weekly Fylla. He continued; “there is the possibility for us to come back to do a song for fun but as a group …I can’t tell, especially the way the industry is going leave much to be desired”

So Quophi’s love for radio didn’t wane as he secured a job at Fox Fm 93.7 where he hosted the Drive time called Rush Hour. This he continued until he was transfer to take charge of the sister station- Hot Fm 93.9 in Accra as a Drive Time host, Rush Hour. By virtue of hard work and on the job training, he has become more confidence and deadly when he is behind the console.

His awesome strength as a drive master lay in his ability to articulate well in both English and Akan. These qualities are seen in the way he runs his LPMs (Life Presenters Mentions).

But hold on the segment that he endeared him to the listeners is the part where he insects the hilarious mimic of one Oliver, (I understand he is a taxi driver in Kumasi who was discovered by Kwami Adinkra) when he is dishing out good songs. Perhaps, the piecemeal Ahinta Asem by Oheneba Twum Barima and the newly introduced Artist of the week interview show how creative the man is.

Listening to radio during Drive Time from Monday to Friday on Accra airwaves especially Hot Fm 93.8 is not just interesting but hot and sizzling as he keep his listeners in suspense just great. He hosts the Viewers Request Time on TV Africa and would be host of much publicized Soundz Flash on the same network.

Quophi started school at the Datus Complex through Swedru International School before ending at Swedru Business School. He wrote his O’ Level privately and did other courses but not professional trained broadcaster. He comes from a huge family of 20 and the last and 7th born child from his mother’s side and he is married to Music-Music glitzy Stacy with a beautiful babe girl.
