Okyeame Kwame part ways with MTN after 5 yrs

Arguably one of Ghana’s finest lyricist, Mr. Kwame Nsiah Apau better hailed as Okyeame Kwame (OK) has announced that in pursuit of the next phase of his career and other opportunities he has decided to end his brand ambassadorial relationship with telecommunications giant MTN with effect from September 18.

The decent and creative genius has been an MTN brand ambassador for 5 years and this dynamic phase of his career MTN supported Okyeame Kwame with digital innovations, brand activations and the critically acclaimed Versatile Show. Together, Okyeame and MTN forged a give and take relationship that saw each other leveraging off the other’s platforms for mutually beneficial purposes.

Okyeame Kwame believes 5 years of icon association, though beneficial, is also restrictive in the areas sponsorships, performances, innovation. Hence, the need to move on.

While promoting the MTN brand he released 2 albums and 2 singles and also won 6 prestigious awards. Key among his achievements was his championing of the Hepatitis B advocacy cause across the nation which has helped raise the awareness of the general populace which was co-supported by MTN Ghana Foundation.

OK appreciates the support MTN provided during the past 5 years and wish the company the very best in its mission to lead the Ghanaian telecommunications market. “It is important for corporate Ghana to invest in supporting artistes who seek to leave a legacy greater than their music and I want to commend them for what has been a great experience”.

On the verge of celebrating his twenty year milestone at the top of the competitive music industry OK as he goes by now is currently trending with his latest single titled “small small” which features a fine collaboration with Ghana’s Dancehall Queen MzVee. He is filming a world-class video with Phamous Philms to compliment the hit song whose message and relevance comes at a time when Ghanaians from all walks of life need to do a re-examination of their lifestyles based on the principles of hard work, integrity and commitment to sustainable personal growth.
