Ohemaa Mercy competes with Nigerians over award

Award winning gospel artiste, Ohemaa Mercy, born Mercy Twum Boafo, faces tough competition from five Nigerians as she vies for the West Africa Artiste of the Year in this year’s Groove Awards.

She is competing with Nigeria’s gospel super weights Frank Edwards, Lara George, Nathaniel Bassey, Sinach and Solomon Lange for the coveted award. Groove Awards is a Kenyan-based Gospel award show that seeks to honour musicians who have contributed immensely in the spread of the gospel through their music.

Ohemaa’s Head of Management Team, Isaac Twum Ampofo, confirmed her nomination to Infoboxdaily.

Ampofo believes Ohemaa Mercy can win the award despite the stiff competition from Nigerian artistes within the category: “It is no doubt that the Nigerian artistes nominated are good, however, Ohemaa Mercy is a winnable nominee.”

He urged fans of the artiste to vote massively for her to win.

Voting for the nominees closes on May 30, 2015 and the award show is scheduled for June 1, 2015 in Kenya.
