Nigerian rappers Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez are locked in a heated online exchange over who truly reigns supreme in the rap game.
What began as a subtle verse in a newly released song has since escalated into a full-blown social media spat between the two artistes.
The tension started with the June 20, 2025 release of ‘Who Is Rapping’ by Nigerian rapper A-Q, which features Blaqbonez.
Though no names were explicitly mentioned, many listeners believed the track contained veiled shots at other rappers in the industry.
In hip-hop culture, such subliminal jabs are not uncommon and are often seen as part of the genre's competitive spirit.
Shortly after the song dropped, Odumodublvck took to X, posting a series of cryptic but strongly worded messages that many interpreted as responses to the track and its featured artiste.
“Tell that old fool that Odumodu is really rapping,” he wrote.
In another post, he added: “Who vex smiggle?”, a reference seemingly aimed at mocking someone, likened by fans to Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.
He later tweeted: “A-FOOL”, a post fans took as a play on A-Q’s name, interpreting it as a direct insult.
Odumodublvck didn’t stop there. He continued posting indirect shots, including:
“There’s a rapper who made a deal they can’t get out of and is now trying to use my name to sell records.”
Although no name was mentioned, fans widely assumed it was a dig at Blaqbonez.
As the back-and-forth heated up, fans encouraged Odumodublvck to take the beef to the studio. But he dismissed the idea with: “Make Kendrick go dey battle Ace Hood.”
This was interpreted as him saying Blaqbonez is not on his level, likening any rap battle between them to a mismatch. “I no dey do rap beef with una,” he added, clarifying that he had no interest in engaging in a diss-track battle.
Blaqbonez subsequently enters the fray.
Rather than responding directly at first, Blaqbonez took a subtler approach.
He went on X to congratulate Olamide on his new album, praising the veteran rapper’s consistency and career longevity.
When a fan replied, expressing hope that Blaqbonez wouldn’t die soon, he took the opportunity to slide in a pointed remark: “Them say them go kill me, but I don record enough for 3 more albums. No fear, because rap actually hard for some people.”
