OPINION: Ernest Opoku; Pillar of Ashanti Region's gospel music

When it comes to music, the Ashanti region is firmly represented thanks to the music stars the region has churned out over the years.

But one fella who has done extremely well within a short period is gospel artiste Ernest Opoku aka Spirit man.

It is for that reason that I find it difficult to comprehend why some people would not give the young man his due.

The breakthrough for Ernest came when he was featured on Anita Obeng’s ‘mapem’ track and since that time he has gone on to provide spirit lifting and life changing tracks including 'Onyame Aguama', 'Meyi na ye', 'Odo', 'Onyame di hene', 'Ayeyi wura nyame' and 'Awurade aye'.

God’s awesomeness is at the centre of the spirit man’s works cutting across God’s unceasing love for all, call against suicide and rallying all to rely on God for material and spiritual possessions.

Another Strength of Ernest is the amount of videos he has accompanying his music that many artiste across board cannot boast of.

The simple message is that Ernest should not be continuously overlooked for awards and recognition.
