Nominations open for 3rd EMY Africa Awards

Organisers of Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Africa Awards, Carbon Av and Exclusive Men’s Magazine have opened nominations for the 3rd annual EMY Africa Awards.

The EMY Africa Awards celebrates men of steel and zeal, whose passion and dedication have rolled out major landmarks in the development and progress of families, societies and the continent at large.

Previous winners of EMY Africa Awards include Ex-President of Ghana; John Agyekum Kufuor, International Business Mogul; Sir Sam Jonah, successful Business Consultant and Politician; Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, Business Magnate; Dr Kwabena Duffour, Young Nigerian Entrepreneur; Adebola Williams, International Football Legend; Abedi Pele, Chairman of United Bank of Africa and celebrated Philanthropist; Mr Tony Elumelu , and so many distinguished others.

The last two editions have been very successful bringing together some of the great and distinguished men and women in Ghana and beyond.

Deadline for the submission of the nominations of this year’s event is July 2, 2018. Interested persons are advised to visit www.emyafrica.com to nominate their "Man of the Year" in the various categories which are grouped under two main classifications; Honorary Awards and Competitive Awards.

In a press release copied to GhanaWeb, organisers said “a strong nomination will clearly identify how the nominee’s work embodies multiple but not necessarily all of the following criteria”.

Below are the various categories for this year’s 3rd EMY Africa Award

7. Osagyefo Pan African Peace Award

The peace award goes to the man of peace whose personal position, demeanour and intervention in matters of conflict and friction has brought resolution to flash point tensions and internal discord and threat to national peace, cohesion and stability.

8. The Icon/Legend of Entertainment Award

A legendary musician, actor, dramatist who has blessed the country with his beautiful talent, mentored many young talents

9. Media excellence award

Media owners/ practitioners who have built formidable media and communications enclaves far outstripping existing media in innovative programming and in commendable expansions.

10. The Young Achiever Award– Ghana and Africa (Rising Star Award)

Two awards in this category (Ghana division and African division)

• Under the age of 40 years who has excelled and showed
