Nollywood actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima has finally had a big break in her court case today, April 7, 2016 after being slammed with a 5-year jail term by the Court of Appeal in Lagos.

The actress was alleged to have collided with the car of a staff of Lagos State hospital, Giwa Suraj as a result of reckless driving on the Lekki-Epe Expressway back in February, 2006.

The Appeal court said it was granting the actress N2million bail pending the determination of a suit filed by her at the Supreme court.

Many Nigerians, especially actors have led a campaign asking for mercy for the actress, through rallies and sometimes social media posts.

Just recently Nollywood actor, Segun Arinze, joined the list of supporters of embattled actress and former president of the Actors' Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima.

Arinze prostrated in a video appeal to the family of Dr. Giwa, who was killed in an accident involving Fiberesima, urging them to forgive the actress. Watch Segun Arinze plead with the late Dr. Giwa's family.
