The debate over who best fits to be deputy minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture under the Akufo-Addo-led administration is mere noise, President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour) has said.

Obour asserts that every president has people he consults before taking a decision and as such, the hullabaloo over the appointment is not necessary.

“When it comes to appointments, there are people you think about. There are people that I’m sure he is consulting. He definitely knows who he wants to appoint... I think we should leave the old man to do his great work. So far all the appointments he has made are spot on” he told GhanaWeb.

Following the announcement of Member of Parliament (MP) for Evalue Jomoro-Gwira, Catherine Ablema Afeku, as the minister-designate for the ministry, the 'fight' for the office has been between movie producer Socrates Safo and technocrat Kojo Antwi as their followers have been vociferous on social media.

Some others names which have popped up as prospective nominees are Abraham Ohene Djan (video director), Juliet Asante (movie director and actress), George Andah (marketing mogul) and Ekow Smith-Asante (Actor).
