“No Amount of Money Would Make Me Go Nude”- Martha Ankomah

Playing sex roles in a movie is difficult for MOST actresses, but not the moment’s promising actress, Martha Ankomah.

“I can effectively play any role in a movie but movie directors call on me for sex roles because they know I can play it best” Martha told Hi Newspaper when she recently visited our offices.

But knowing she’s the role’s best player in the industry, Cinekrom asked to what extent she would go with sex acts, “I would never play a role completely naked for any amount of money”. “Usually I take such roles for their daring nature and not necessarily because of the money, she says. I always want to do what the next hot actress cannot do”, she said.

However, she warns, “Sometimes don’t believe all the hype, because not all you see are exactly acted between the sheets, there are very good camera and editing people who can make everything possible”.

On her biggest news so far, Martha Ankmoah said she felt honored being nominated as the most Promising Actress in Africa at the AMAAs.

On April 10, 2010, in Nigeria, Martha Ankomah will have to knock out Chelsea Eze (Silent Scandal) to be named Africa’s MOST PROMISING ACTRESS (Sins of the Soul). “Seriously speaking its only Chelsea Eze I have ever seen in a movie. I hear the others are cool: Martha Kisaka (Togetherness Supreme), Ashionye Michelle Ugboh (Jungle Ride) and Rahema Nanfuka (Imani); but I’m very hopeful” Martha told Hi Newspaper.

For Martha, Sin of the Soul is her best movie because “the movie has great moral lesson for people to learn from and also it was directed by my favorite director, Frank Raja”.

‘Frank Raja is my favorite director because he brings the best out of me and he is good but I pray that production houses will give out script on time to actors for us to play the our characters well, some time parts of the scripts are written on set’ she said.

Martha like any other actress started from the stage of Fun World and kiddafest in 1996. With passion to act on the big stage she went to join the group called T.P.S which helped her to be featured in television series like Suncity, Games People Play, Where is your mobile, Yes Matron and Beyond the Mic which will hit TV soon. She placed second in the TV reality show the next movie star which featured armature actors from Ghana and Nigeria. Martha has stared in movies like Power of the gods, Shakira, Sin of the Soul, Heart of Men and the new one Kiss Me If U Can which she plays a hot sex scene many men will love to watch.

Aside acting she does a lot of the voice-overs you hear on radio and TV; two memorable- Yazz sanitary pad and Cargo Gin Bitters.
