Nana Kondu felt I was a ‘Political Prostitute’ – Maame Dokono

Veteran actress Grace Omaboe popularly known as Maame Dokono has revealed that the former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings felt she was a ‘Political Prostitute’ because she left her party National Democratic Congress (NDC) and joined the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the actress, she was attracted to join the NDC because of the 31st December Women’s Movement and Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.

She applauded the former First Lady for introducing the 31st December Women’s Movement which according to her, has enlightened and empowered many women across the country.

“I was with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) before joining the NDC because of the former First Lady and the good things she was doing for women through her 31st December Women’s Movement. I had to go back to my party (NPP) because of some problems I had with the former first lady,” she explained.

Speaking in an interview with Delay on The Delay Show, the veteran actress refused to disclose the kind of problems she had with Nana Konadu when she was with the NDC but refuted the assertion that she was having an affair with former President J. J. Rawlings even though she admitted she was young and attractive.

“I was attractive and young woman but I don’t think I would have an affair with the former president. No I didn’t have an affair with former President Rawlings”, she stressed.

Maame Dokono also revealed that the 31st December Women’s Movement use to sponsor “By The Fire Side” show but had to withdraw the sponsorship because of the issues she had with the former First Lady.
