Nana Adwoa Awindor Hails Ghana’s Media

Media guru and host of ‘Greetings from Abroad’, Nana Adwoa Awindor, is happy with the cordiality that exists within the Ghanaian media fraternity.

She said the Ghanaian media was ahead of most media in other parts of the world as regards a cordial and healthy relationship. She said though there was competition among the Ghanaian media, it was not the negative type.

She therefore commended the media for that feat. She made the comments recently when she spoke during the launch of Legends & Legacy Ball concert to celebrate Ghanaian music legend Daddy Lumba.

The programme, which is coming off tomorrow night at the Accra International Conference Centre, is being organized by Imajin Advertising and Adom FM.

Nana Adwoa was fascinated by the fact that though Adom FM was part of the organization, other media houses agreed to come on board as sponsors. She said that was rare in certain countries. “Let me say I like the kind of jokes you guys play. Recently we (media) had events like the sport games.

In some countries you don’t get the media fraternizing so much. It becomes like rivalry and so many unhealthy competitions…But I love the way you fraternize with your competitors. So let’s continue to keep the harmony and do a good job because. It is the people we are serving and if we are good with each other, our people will yield better results,” she said.

Nana, who is the mother of songstress Efya, is the owner of Premier Productions, the multi-media outfit behind ‘Greetings from Abroad’. She is one of the few Ghanaian media persons who have been exposed to how most foreign media operate.
