NPP Plots to Declare Akufo-Addo Victorious Before EC Announces Winner

CRACK SPECIAL TOGOLESE

TROOPS ON STAND-BY

… Govt. Plans to use them to quell protests after forced declaration

…Togolese Militia Teams-up with Action Troopers to snatch ballot boxes in NDC strongholds

The ‘True Democrat’ has picked intelligence which points to some form of collaboration between the Government of Ghana and the Togolese authorities. The Togolese authorities, we are informed, have agreed to deploy their special militia along the Ghana-Togo border. The plan is not only for the sake of the Sunday December 28th presidential run-off, but part of the grand plot to assist the NPP declare itself victorious even before the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, declares the winner.

The details of the plot which has been worked out between the security chiefs of the two countries would see the Togolese Special Forces deploy rapidly through Niamtougou, a city in Northern Togo with a facility to fly special military aircrafts. They have been assigned the duty of taking control of Tamale, Ho and other potential trouble spots which are likely to erupt if the NPP tried to steal the mandate of the people.

Explaining the plot, the intelligence said the Togolese Forces placed on stand-by are similar to the terror squad used in 2005 to clamp-down on demonstrators in the Togolese capital. The NPP government has on their part tasked the heads of their special commando unit, which is an amalgamation of specially trained police commandos and their counterparts in the 64 Infantry Regiment, to team up with the Togolese to ensure the declaration of the results is done in favour of the NPP. The bulk of the NPP’s selected special force trained in Morocco, Israel, Nigeria and the United States were drawn from Jamasi and Nkawie in the Ashanti Region.

Due to the volatile nature of the intelligence information and the invidious tactics being used by the NPP government to cling to political power, we sought the opinion of a retired General. He warned of the consequences of such irresponsible act and intimated that with the full commitment of the Ghanaian people to change their leaders through the ballot box, there could be a backlash if they tried to suppress the will of the people.

The former Army General expressed worry that a party which has loudly pontificated on constitutionalism and rule of law could resort to such shenanigans and the possible use of armed gangs to cling to power. He urged the paper to expose the plot and alert the diplomatic community as to the covert games being played by the J.A. led government to cow the opposition and the people of Ghana into mindless acquiescence.

According to the army chief, the allegations of collaboration between some elements of our 64 Infantry Regiment, and the specially selected goons from the police service, coming from Togolese intelligence should not be taken lightly. However, it is his conviction that judging from the discipline and professionalism of our Armed Forces, they would resist the plot and crush this attempt to install a government which does not flow from the sovereign will of the people.

As at press time, our intelligence also dropped vital details of a purported advanced team of the crack militia putting finishing touches to their strategy as they prepare to quietly enter Ghana. The intelligence from the same authentic Togolese sources hinted that they would be scattered in parts of the Volta Region. Their mission is different from the main batch, which the intelligence sources in the Togolese Armed Forces maintained have been earmarked for deployment on the day of the election using the airstrip in Northern Togo. Those advance team on entering the country have the special assignment of collaborating with the NPP ‘Action Troopers’. Their job description, we are informed is to join forces with the NPP goons to snatch ballot boxes from selected NDC strongholds on the day of the election.
