Singer Mzbel has advised older women not to accept the belief that childbirth is impossible after age 40, as she opened up about giving birth at 44.

She explained that although she kept her experience private for two years, she has decided to speak about it to challenge widespread assumptions about age and fertility, maintaining that women over 40 can still conceive.

In a video shared on her social media platforms, the singer also stated that certain herbal remedies can support conception.

“If someone tells you that once you reach age 40, you can’t give birth, it’s a lie. I gave birth to my daughter at the age of 44. There are a lot of local medicines that can prepare your womb and tubes, making it possible for you to conceive,” she said.

Mzbel speaks on why she stepped away from music

Mzbel went on to recount that her journey to motherhood came with difficulties. She said she initially pursued several costly medical treatments, but none proved successful.

According to her, it was only after she turned to herbal medicine for a period of about four to five months that she became pregnant.

“When I decided to have my daughter, I went through many treatments, which were expensive, but nothing worked until Hajia Fertility gave me her medicine and showed me how to prepare it. I took it for about four to five months, and I conceived,” she disclosed.

She added that after giving birth, many people reached out to her privately, curious about how she managed to conceive at that age.

“When I gave birth, a lot of people came into my DMs asking how I was able to conceive at 44. I didn’t respond to most of them, only those close to me,” she added.
