Ghanaian singer Fameye has opened up about the spiritual core of his artistry, insisting that although he is not a pastor, his songs serve a divine mission by spreading truth.
On TV3’s The Afternoon Show, he explained: “I may not be a pastor, but my music is built on truth and, since truth is the gospel, I’m already doing God’s work through my songs.”
He positions himself as a conduit for honesty, arguing that tracks offering hope to the struggling and tackling real-life issues effectively deliver gospel messages.
Fameye voiced frustration over exclusions, such as his song “Praise” missing gospel nods at the TGMA awards, stressing that any music uplifting souls and unveiling truth qualifies as gospel regardless of category.
For him, the “good news” transcends church walls; it is alive in every raw lyric connecting deeply with listeners’ experiences.
