My music career is on hold for now – Mzbel

Mzbel Mzbel

Hiplife artiste , Mzbel, who has been doing less on the music scene for a while now has disclosed the reason behind her slow music career.

According to her, music is on hold for now because promoting one of her songs, ‘Tongues’ was difficult.

‘Tongues’ was released in 2018 and it got people talking especially because she kept saying she did not believe in the existence of Jesus Christ but in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, she disclosed promoting it was not easy after she supported NDC in the campaign.

“Music is kind of on hold for now. The main reason is that when I released Tongues, promoting it was difficult.

“It was right after the general election and I had shown my face as to who I supported, so there was hatred. I went for a nationwide tour but it still didn’t work.

“As things stand now, if I release a song, I won’t be able to promote it and I won’t get gigs because of political reasons. I have about 11 or 12 songs to be released so I put them on my website.

“I, however, have a yet-to-be-confirmed European tour that will take me to about four European countries. At the moment, I am focusing my energy on my pub and other things,” she said.

In the meantime, she operates a pub and into production and renting of equipment for events to sustain herself now that the music is on hold.

Aside from that, she hosts ‘Odo Nso’ on Onua FM and she says the feedback has been amazing.

“They gave me a one-year contract but they were happy with me so they have renewed it. On the show, we discuss sex, marriage and relationships. We also share our sexual experiences.

“I have received some backlash because some people think I am not qualified to host the show because I am not married, but I disagree with them because I have been in a couple of relationships. I enjoy hosting the show because I am allowed to be myself. It is so much fun,” Mzbel told Graphic Showbiz
