Musicians who mime are fraudsters - Coach Freeman

Coach Freeman Coach Freeman

Music goes beyond writing and recording , there's one major factor that has been left hanging. "Voice" do we as entertainment patrons pay attention to the voices behind the great rhythm and lyrical content?

Are there flaws?

Or we can't identify the flaws due to influx of technology , audio effects etc. As told today on the most listened to drive time show in Ghana currently, which is the 3fmDrive with Giovani Caleb , Coach Freeman who is a voice coach and Songwriter with loads of experience took time to educate listeners.

"A voice is the sound produced in a person's larynx and uttered through the mouth, as speech or song"

The songwriter in a heated interview , which focused on the need for a musician to have a great voice. He also touched on the voice being part of the body , and the need to train it to conform.

"When one has a great voice , the person is capable of conveying feelings , information etc" in it's right proportion" , He stressed on

Hitting hard at musicians who use the aid of sound effects and voice effects such as auto tune amongst others , the experienced trainer stated every musician who has no voice and can't perform live on stage without the aid auto tune effects is a Fraudster.

Explaining this ,he said "miming simply means pretending to sing " so why would a paid musician engage in such act of pretense.

Summing up in his displeasure , Coach Freeman mentioned the likes of Samini , Sarkodie and Efya as the few Ghanaian musicians who have grown by training their voices and in control of their voices and on any day deliver on live stages.

Citing Efya's nerve racking VGMA performance as an example.

"Music goes beyond writing , recording and having a nice music video" , he added.
