Musician Nana Quame in visa scandal

Ghanaian hip-life artist of ‘Atea adonko fame’ Nana Quame Entsie has probably blacklisted himself from entering Europe, at least to any of the Schengen countries.

According to the manager of a Dutch promotion company (Dannalf Ventures), Danny Osei, he invited Nana Quame, Okomfo Kwaadee & 8 supporting artists for a European tour last December.

Once the visas were approved, Nana Quame began making private arrangements to hold his own concerts in Germany, Italy and other European countries.

As a result of his greedy actions, the management of Dannalf Ventures terminated the contract and advised the Dutch Embassy in Accra to withdraw the visas of Nana Quame plus 7 others. (Okomfo Kwaade & 1 other was exempted because they were not part of the plot.)

The Dutch Embassy advised Nana Quame on the phone not to travel on the visas since they had been withdrawn.

Nana Quame ignored this advice, sold the 7 passports for sums ranging from €2500,00 - €5000,00 and proceeded to perform in Hamburg, Germany on 28 December 2003.

One of the buyers of this passport who spoke on condition of anonymity said he paid €2500,00 and was asked by Nana Quame to leave the country as soon as possible.

Danny has lodged a complaint at the Dutch Home Office. The authorities are reportedly taking action on the case

Danny told this reporter that such acts really undermine the genuine intentions of their business and asked musicians to be honest, sincere and avoid such diabolical strategies.
