Music Council of Ghana to demonstrate in Accra on July 31

In an era where demonstrations tend to be the order of the day, a press release sent to us indicate that the Music Council of Ghana will soon hit the streets of Accra to register their displeasure at the current events in the music industry.

After a consultative meeting at Agona Swedru with all its affiliate music Associations including Veteran Musicians Association of Ghana (VEMAG), Association of Music Rights Owners (AMRO), Musicians and Dancers Association of Ghana (MUDAG), Professional Musicians Association of Ghana (PROMAG), Composers and Authors of Music Association of Ghana (CAMAG) etc, the group has agreed to go on a mass demonstration on Thursday the 31st of July 2014 at 7am in Accra.

All members will converge at the GHAMRO office at Adabraka (BEHIND TEACHERS HALL) in Accra on the said date.

They will proceed to the Attorney Generals Department, then to Parliament and to the Flagstaff House to present their petition on their displeasure about the current impasse in the music industry.
