The Growth of Streaming is still an iffy spot in the music industry. Artists believe that the royalty structure in place is unfair and devalues them as music professionals.

This is a continuation of the old argument of when artists feel like they are being taken advantage of by labels and management who take a higher percentage of their product. We live in a growing world of shared services and one of the beauties of this is the invention of programs like Ghana's Big 6 Cypher, a music promotional project between bjrlivefm.com (Ghana) and loudsoundgh.com (Belgium) that gives platform to up and coming artists from Ghana.

The music project within the industry will continue to have a massive impact on the way budding artists act throughout the industry taking a look at the successful season one of the cypher. It has become a huge part of underground artists’ marketing and promotional efforts sponsored by Bjrlive FM and Loud Sound Gh. Where music has become a digital enterprise, a vast amount of these artists data has been collected which is used in leveraging their music release dates, promotional plans, social demographics and more.

The Big 6 Cypher is designed to give six (6) up and coming artists the opportunity to showcase their talents to a wide range of music lovers and audience every month. Season 2 has 8 episodes and the first episode premieres 6th June starting with 6 budding talents namely: Mununkum, Rogad Emcee, Sugar Mole, Shaimi, Mr One and Amerado and it will be produced by Unas Beatz and hosted by award winning DJ Bibini.

Mununkum; Known in real life as Kelvin Thompson – Quartey, a GA rapper with an Akan stage name has already earned his street cred from the environs of Mallam Gbawe, a suburb in Accra and with his talent and great passion for music, he’s known for songs like; “Ogboo,” “Rage,” and the current love single “Se Wo Do Mea.” Meanwhile, Rogad Emcee is a new sensational rapper and Nurse who believes music is everything that heals and gives hope to the hopeless. He is creatively known for his “Gad and Beast” record which featured Amerado.

The Big 6 Cypher which has turned into an exciting music platform for these underground artists adds Sugar Mole, born Nana Agyemang Frimpong to the first episode in season 2. Sugar Mole sings to bridge the cultural divide gap in society.

Shaimi who recently earned over one thousand streaming hits on his song titled “My Hittas” also doubles as one of the few rising artists who churned out EPs worth listening in 2014. Rounding up episode one on season two is Mr One and Amerado the “beast.” Both artists are creative and popular for songs like “Make We Go” and “I AM” respectively. While Mr One readies some music efforts for his growing fanbase, Amerado will soon be featured on rapper Edem’s “Gbevu” remix.

The Big 6 Cypher music project is an initiative between Samcilla Baakojr (Owner of BjrliveFM.com) and Alfred Aborga (Owner of Loudsoundgh.com) Season Two’s episode one will be premiered online today June, 6th.
