Mr. Ibu bags Best Actor award on his birthday

John Okafor popularly known as Mr.Ibu turned 54, last Sunday and the comic actor rolled out drums to mark his birthday in grand style.

He threw a birthday bash that had all the trappings of a five star event in Owerri, with Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State in attendance. Rochas was represented at the event which held at Rock View hotels, by one of his Commissioners, Hon. Uche Nwosu.

Also, in attendance were Nollywood stars including Chinyere Winfred, Offialagu Mbaka, Dauda, Jericho, Emeka Rollas, Ajebo, Kakaki,Chinyere Udoma, Dunhil, Adin Williams and one time John player world dancing champion, Issac Chinagorum. Popular musicians like Xbuster and Ibeh Chukwuneke a.k.a MC Chuks thrilled the audience with their scintillating tunes and performances that held the audience spellbound.

Interestingly, at the event, the comic-actor was presented with the Best Movie Actor of the Year award, by the Peace Ambassadors Of Nigeria. Presented to him by Mr. Okey Nwuzor popularly called Don Singles, the award was earlier received on behalf of Mr. Ibu at a ceremony organized by the group in Abuja.

Okafor is one of Nigeria's most talented comic actors. His acting is often characterised by stupidity, hilarious imbecility and a sharp disconnection from reality.
