Miss Attipoe wins Eastern zone Miss Ghana Pageant

Ho, Nov. 2, GNA - Miss Sefakor Attipoe, a 20-year-old student of the University of Ghana, Legon on Sunday won the coveted Eastern zone of the Pleasure 2003 Miss Ghana contest at the Woezor Hotel in Ho. Miss Attipoe, who beat four other contestants, received 800,000 cedis and some sponsors products and would be partnered by Miss Christine Wemegah, 20, also a student who took home 600,000 cedis as the runner-up to represent the zone at the national contest slated for December, this year, in Accra.

Prince Kwadwo Nante, a 23-year-old tailor came first in the dance contest while Hilda Okai, a 19-year-old student placed second. They received 500,000 cedis and 450,000 cedis respectively; some sponsored goodies and would represent the zone at the final event. Joseph Agbodzi, 22, a Disc Jockey (DJ) won the Hiplife contest and received 500,000 cedis as his prize followed by Shadrack Ntrakwah, 19, herbalist who received 450,000 cedis to win their tickets to represent the Eastern zone at the grand finale.

Side attractions to the event were musical interludes and dance performances by Mr Isaac Allotey, the 2002 national dance champion, who thrilled the audience to good dance gesticulations winning prolonged applause from the audience.

Grave Digger and 4X4 were also in attendance to lend their support with titillating hiplife performances.

A minute silence was observed in memory of Hiplife artiste Terry Bonchaka who died in a motor accident on Friday.

The show was organised by Media Whizz Kidds and supported by Labadi Beach Hotel and Fiat Palio with donations from Spacefon, Ghana Airways, Porsche, Revlon, GBC, Buck Press, Irokko, Karrington Limited, Kapital FM, and Graphic Showbiz.
