Minister of Health gives Okyeame Kwame thumbs up

Health Minister, Hon. Alex Segbefia, has given the Okyeame Kwame Foundation the thumbs up for their immense contribution towards the fight against Hepatitis B in Ghana.

For the last seven years, the Okyeame Kwame Foundation has embarked on a free Hepatitis B Screening and Vaccination Exercise across the country. The foundation has screened about 6000 people and vaccinated a majority of screened people.

Speaking to the press during a visit by Okyeame Kwame to the Minister, Hon. Alex Segbefia endorsed the program saying: “Hello, my name is Alex Segbefia, Minister for Health for the Republic of Ghana. The 28th of July is world hepatitis Day. I wish to take this opportunity to encourage you all to check your status and screen for Hepatitis.

In view of this, the Okyeame Kwame Foundation is organizing the 7th annual clinic in Ho. If you are in Ho and its environs, please go and be screened. If you test negative, you will be given free vaccination.

Okyeame Kwame is apt to be commended for his relentless effort towards the fight against Hepatitis B in Ghana. Let us all support. Visit any health facility to know your status and get vaccinated.

I will like to urge the media to use their network to promote hepatitis and the world hepatitis Day celebration. Remember your health is our concern. Thank you” This year’s screening and vaccination exercise is scheduled to take place in Ho, on July 28, 2016 at the Premises of Ghana Post in Ho.

The event is made possible by the partnership of MDS Lancet Laboratories, a world class diagnostic center in Ghana, Kekeli Radio in Ho, CSS Pharmacy in New York and the Theobald foundation.
