Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Clement Kofi Humado has sent a Valentine’s Day message to especially the youth with a call on them to use the days for the expression of love and affection and guide against immoral acts.
“On February 14, every year, people all over the world particularly the youth often express love to their loved ones to rekindle or strengthen their relationships. Some also make new friends that could even last their life time”.
Mr Humado’s message which was released on his behalf by Michael Frimpomg, Assistant Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, said the youth should therefore be mindful of the ideals of Valentine’s Day and use the occasion to promote positive activities among their peers.
“The youth of Ghana must therefore seize this opportunity to look into the future with optimism and not to engage in sexual promiscuity that can lead to HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, drug and substance abuse, excessive drinking and other social vices”.
Mr Humado emphasized that the youth of Ghana must also use the Valentine Day as an occasion to turn on a new leaf since they are the future leaders and the country expects much from them and therefore the destiny of the country lies in their hands, which they must jealously guide.
