In 2000, Pine was knighted by the Queen for his services to jazz, and recently named by the BBC as one of the ten Black Britons of all time.

The unique story of Pine?s homecoming to his music roots started some 30 years ago in Kingsbury, North London, when he met Osibisa, the Afro-rock super group. Mac Tontoh was their leader and lead trumpeter.
