Emmanuel Appiah better known by his showbiz name Kwappiah is a Ghanaian actor and a comedian from Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo region.
Being the second out of seven children of his parent, Kwappiah noted that although he could have been a businessman or worked with a corporate establishment, he finds comedy as his passion and profession.
According to him, he seeing people laugh to his comedy brings him joy and happiness.
“I never taught of anything apart from doing comedy whether in movies or stages. I don’t know what would have become of me if I had forced my way into becoming a corporate worker but here I am enjoying what I do”, Kwappiah told Kasapafmonline.com.
Kwappiah noted that his comedy life started when he was given an opportunity at TV3 Music Music to keep the audience entertained with his jokes when they were on commercials.
He later joined “Just like you” a program which was hosted by Fiifi Banson on TV.Africa.
“Exposing more of my comic side wherever I find myself and seeing people laugh to my jokes, I realised comedy is my career.”
As a comic actor, Kwappiah has featured in movies like Ngozie, Aligantus, Hyebr3 Be3ni and many more.
“When it comes to comic acting I really respect Agya Koo because he paved the way for many of us to be where we are now,” Kwappiah added.
Being the brain behind “Fabey3 Sere” a program on Angel Tv, the actor/comedian intends to make people laugh despite their problems or what they face in life.
“I was inspired by my sick grandmother upon seeing her laugh out loud to some jokes at a program making her forget about the situation she was in. I realised there is more to life than we know. We just need to laugh to release us from some pain or worries,” he said.
He advised that Ghanaian comedians need to be united whether the person does comedy in English or in our local dialects in order to help push Gh. Comedy to the next height.
With his phenomenal creative comic acting style, Kwappiah has carved a niche for himself with his presence on Tv and Social media.
