McLord Ice who is contesting to become President for the Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG) has pledged to fight for a change in FDGG that all members lust for.
McLord Ice who is contesting the incumbent president is believed to have already received the blessings of many film producers, directors and actors in the industry who have lost confidence in the leadership style of Richard Boateng.
McLord Ice who had gone through vetting indicated that he has plans in place to bring back all directors who seemed to have lost faith in the Guild back to help build the guild for its progress.
He said he will work to restore the respect film directors have in the industry and ensure that building unity and togetherness among directors across all media, senior and junior directors.
“I will also improve the skills and directorial knowledge of I – house directors in FDGG through workshops, seminars, master class, one-on-one mentoring class, as well as conducting periodic film screening to recognise and showcase the outstanding works of directors of FDGG,” he said.
According to McLord Ice, he has the vision to introduce five (5) major things including Annual directors forum, National film submission programme, FDGG short films/documentaries screening, Regional membership premiering support, and Annual certificate school program and will benefit FDGG members.
The Annual Directors Program he explained, "is an annual film forum that I and my team will organize from regional level to national by organizing workshop, seminars, master classes, one-on-one mentoring".
“Annual certificate school program will be a degree program certificate school program that I and my team will team up with any of the universities for enrollment in the school,” he said.
To achieve these, he stated that he will in consultation with his team put measures in place to establish various committees from among members to help bring these into reality.
Seen as the next best president by many industry players, McLord Ice is also getting support from other Senior directors who prefer him to the interim President Richard Boateng.
McLord Ice also has work with a lot of international film projects in Ghana, getting more exposed also in other countries.
