Married Woman Dies In Lover?s Room

The farming community of Denkyira Besease near Dunkwa-On-Offin was last Wednesday plunged into a state of shock when a 38-year-old woman who sneaked from her matrimonial home to sleep with her boyfriend collapsed and died in the man?s room.

They were alleged to be having sex when the unexpected happened.

Kwame Adjei, alias Operator, the boyfriend, confirmed to the police that they were actually in bed when the woman started vomiting and consequently collapsed.

Assistant Suprintendent of Police (ASP) in-charge of Dunkwa, Nana Kumi-Achiaw who briefed The Mirror via telephone quoted Adjei as saying that, the woman did not complain of any sickness before they went to bed. He also did not take any medicine before the act.

Adjei admitted that the deceased was his lover and that it was the woman herself who proposed to him after he gave her ?20,000 on request.

The woman?s husband, Kwame Boadu, told the police that he never suspected his wife was engaged in adultery.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Dunkwa-On-Offin hospital pending autopsy.

ASP Kumi-Achiaw said the deceased was the first of the two wives of Boadu and they lived in the same house at Denkyira Bisease. The couple had six children from their marriage.

He said Adjei was a chainsaw operator who went to the area about a month ago to operate.

Adjei made attempts to befriend the deceased?s daughter but it turned out that the woman herself had interest in the man.

He added that unknown to Boadu, anytime he went to sleep with his second wife, the deceased would sneak to the boyfriend?s house.

In the night of September 27, Boadu went to the other wife?s house, and as usual, the deceased also went to Adjei?s room around 12:30 a.m. on September 28.

ASP Kumi-Achiaw said whilst they were having sex, a few minutes after entering Adjei?s room, she complained of pains and started vomiting and screaming.

The noise attracted the attention of Adjei?s landlord who went to knock at the door of the man and on opening it, the woman was found lying on the floor unconscious.

The landlord assisted in carrying the woman outside where they poured water on her in a bid to revive her but to no avail.

When the landlord realised that things were getting out of hand, he raised an alarm for people to come to help.

ASP Kumi-Achiaw indicated that many people, including the decease?s husband, were attracted to the scene and Adjei was immediately arrested while the woman was rushed to the Denkyira Dominase Health Centre where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
