Man slashes niece's arm for not reserving food for him

Aflao, Jan. 17 GNA - A driver, who slashed the arm of his nine-year old niece with a razor blade for not preparing food for him, appeared before an Aflao circuit court on Monday charged with causing harm. Peter Atsu Quarshigah's was remanded in police custody until January 22.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr. Peter Glabu told the court that the victim, Adiza Iddrisu, was living with her grandmother who is Quarshigah's mother.

He said in the afternoon of December 21 last year, Quarshigah, 32 and a bachelor, returned from work and in an angry mood accused his niece of failing to reserve food for him.

Quarshigah went for a blade in his room, slashed the right arm of the victim and vacated the house but he was arrested early this month.
