Mad Rush For Lizzy Okrah

FOLLOWING HER outstanding performance on the Ghanaian music scene in just a few weeks, Lizzy Okra has won the hearts of many music lovers with her current album, ‘Osorobete.’

Not too long after the release of her second album, with hit song ‘Waye Ama Me’, Lizzy has caught the attention of music lovers so much so that they are rushing to music shops to grab copies of her CD.

Music distributors and retailers say the demand for Lizzy’s album has skyrocketed since last week because the songs on her second album have inspired many.

With the increasing demand for her album, it would not be a surprise if retailers take advantage of the situation to increase the price of the CD.

Lizzy’s music is a combination of excellent lyrics, good vocals and instrumentation. The album is full of catchy, easy-to-sing- along-with tunes with immense commercial potential. It is set to create stiff competition for established artistes, particularly those in the gospel music field.

Pre-release comments on the album from some music experts are mind-blowing. Certain radio presenters are so excited that they want a promo copy of the album for immediate airplay.

A number of fans who had the opportunity to listen to the songs on the album have rated the album among the best to be produced in the country this year.

Some stakeholders in the music industry have also tipped the album as one of the best, saying it can easily grab an award at next year’s Ghana Music Awards.

A multi-national company which also sees great potential in her has announced its intention to sign on the gospel song bird on its international label.

In an interview with Ernest Kwesi Ennin, CEO of Media Excel Productions, producers of Lizzy’s current album, he revealed that though his ultimate aim as an artiste manager and a producer is to help his artiste make a mark on both the local and international music scenes, he feels there is still more experience to gain.

Kwesi Ennin attributed Lizzy’s success to hard work, prayers and the messages her songs carry.

To show appreciation to her music fans, Lizzy is planning to launch her album on October 23 at the Victory Bible Church, Osu, to give her fans the opportunity to see her live on stage.
