MTN unveiling unsung musicians through Hitmaker – Asher Khan

Several fresh talents have been nurtured and churned out into the music industry by courtesy of the country’s largest telecommunications service; MTN Ghana through its hitmaker series; MTN Hitmaker.

MTN Hitmaker is an original talent hunt reality show opened to young and upcoming singers who have great potential and are looking for exposure.
Over the years, several of these young talents have been produced and are making it in the showbiz circles after the program.

Speaking at the launch of the MTN Hitmaker season 6, Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana, Asher Khan expressed excitement at the progress of the show since its inception. According to him, every season has been a different experience as patrons are always thrilled and participants fulfilled.

“For the last five years, at the start of every Hitmaker season, I’m sure you have found alongside us the excitement Hitmaker brings as we anticipate the fresh talents to be unearthed”.

“As the years have gone by, the rise of budding talents that have benefitted from the MTN Hitmaker, it feels great to see those stars we have been able to identify do really well”.

“MTN has brightened the lives of several unsung musicians through Hitmaker and it is the same thing that we would wish to achieve this year also”, he said.

Mr. Khan expressed optimism in the success of this year’s season. According to him, several innovative techniques have been adopted to improve the show and give patrons more.

The search begins as we launch season 6 of MTN Hitmaker. This year is going to be slightly different from last year’s because we will make use of powerful digital platforms like MTN play and radio plus to search for the talent and showcase them. This will make the mechanics for the demo simple, convenient and fun and also allow for more and more people to participate in the show and provide visibility.

Winners of the Hitmaker series over the years have made outstanding progress in the music industry.

Shadrack Adjei, popularly known as Naterial; the first Hitmaker winner, launched his maiden 12-track album titled “Adole” in 2013 and is making significant progress in his career.

Torgbe; 2014 winner, Kidi; 2015 winner and Kelvin; 2016 winner are all making strides in the industry following their win in the Hitmaker show.
