Popular Nigerian musician, Iyanya would headline performances at the final of MTN Hitmaker reality TV show, the producers have announced.

Come next Friday the Accra International Conference Centre will be the venue to determine who emerges as the winner of the season two version of the MTN Hitmaker and Iyanya and other Ghanaian artistes will provide the electrifying music needed for such a show.

Iyanya who came to public attention after winning the 2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa talent competition is expected to rock the house on the night. Followers of Nigerian music in Ghana know him well for songs like 'Kukere', 'Ur Waist' and 'Sexy Mama.'

After a thirteen week television reality show with 12 participants showing their talent for audience to vote for them the time has come to choose the successor to season one winner Naterial among the four remaining.

The four finalists preparing to put up the performance of their lives with the hope of bagging the juicy recording contract and other prizes at stake are K. Bee, Koo Ntakara, Kofi Korea and Cano Z.

During the past 13 weeks, these contestants have endeared themselves to viewers and thereby getting retained till the very end of the show.

The season two of the MTN Hit-Maker reality show aired on GTV, Metro TV, Multi TV and UTV on Sundays at 8.30pm. It also aired on eTV and Cyrstal TV on Saturdays at 8.00pm and on GH One at 7.00pm on Saturdays.

According to Farmhouse Productions, the producers of the show, it has been a very gruesome journey to unearth talent but it has been worth the effort. “Looking at the quality of the talent that is going to the final and from which one would emerge as a winner, we are very happy of the work we put in,” says Ivan Quashigah the CEO.

According Richard Acheampong, General Manager of Marketing at MTN, they are happy with the way the season has gone. “We are very happy that we have provided a platform for young up and coming musicians to show to the word what they are capable of doing,” he said.

Richard added that after going through a wonderful season of MTN Hitmaker they want to crown it with a good musical experience hence the decision to bring down Iyanya and the Ghanaian artistes billed to perform on the night.

“Iyanya’s music has gained some ground here and we are sure the audience will respond well to him as well as the Ghanaian acts for the night,” Ivan Quashigah added.

Hiplife artiste Guru, gospel queen Ohemaa Mercy as well as Naterial and Miriam will be performing alongside Iyanya. Naterial won the maiden edition of the MTN Hit-Maker contest while Miriam came second; they have both released albums with support from MTN.

The MTN Hitmaker season two has a prize package of a recording and artiste management deal worth GH¢100, 000.00 for the winner and GH¢50, 000.00 for the first runner-up. The third and fourth-placed winners as well as all finalists will also receive some handsome prizes.
