Lydia Forson Picks Raymond Archer

There were speculations amongst guests at actress Lydia Forson’s birthday party with family and friends at the plush La Palm Beach last Sunday, when Lydia chose Raymond Archer, the Editor-in-chief of the Ghanaian Enquirer newspaper, as her dance partner for her special birthday dance.

It is not clear if there is any chemistry between the actress and editor. However, from the look of things, it appears they are very good friends. But Lydia virtually had to force Raymond to the dance floor which he reluctantly did.

Earlier, the co-winner of this year’s prestigious African Movie Academy best actress award and the recently-voted Authentic African Beautiful Woman was on the dance floor with colleague rLG ambassador Desmond Elliot. But that was not the special birthday dance as they were just moving to some rhythms by DJ Mensa, the disc jockey of the evening.

When it was time for the special dance, she chose Raymond, after Desmond openly declared he was not going back on the floor with Lydia again. Raymond Archer however could not show his dexterity in dance on the floor as he was unable to move with the hip-hop music being played.

Lydia obviously did not only outshine him but also out-paced him in steps, with the actress showing him was she made of.The birthday dinner, which was a nice gathering of family and friends, according to the actress, was her 22nd birthday, adding that was her acting age. It was strictly by invitation and it also attracted a number of showbiz names and officials of rLG phones to the La Palm Beach Hotel to party with bubbly actress.

Among them were broadcast journalist Gifty Anti, Naa Ashorkor Mensah Doku, VIP, Richie, Kayda Nana Afriyie (KNAF Couture) and a few other friends, some of whom were on the dance floor with Lydia. Singer, song writer and sound engineer Richie took the opportunity to do a happy birthday act for Lydia after a performance by Nigeria artistes GN8.

Desmond, Raymond and other officials of rLG also joined Lydia to cut the birthday cake. The Nollywood actor used the occasion to shower praises on Lydia, saying he wished to work on the screen with her. Gifty Anti also pledged her support for Lydia’s acting career, saying she and the family were strongly behind her. She also congratulated her for getting a spot on the Authentic African Women vote list. Later that evening, her family and friends, including the media, took turns to take photographs with the actress to climax the evening.
