“I don’t know how the board comes out with their selection but sometimes I feel people get awards they shouldn’t get,” Luther disclosed.

Sensational Ga vocalist, Luther feels discontented over some categories in the 2015 and 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) given to unworthy musicians.

Speaking on Kasapa Entertainment’s ‘Pae Mu Ka’ segment, Luther revealed that 2015 award winners of the Highlife Song of the year, Hiphop Song of year and Discovery of the year categories didn’t deserve the awards.

“Last year, 2015 artistes who won in the Highlife song of the year, Hiphop song of year, Discovery of the year and few other categories, I think those who got it didn’t deserve to win.”

When asked why they see all these blunders yet they (artistes) don’t complain, he said “That is why there’s a team that does all these analysis so I don’t really know the criteria they used in selecting the winners.”

He again noted that “Everybody has an opinion…. that’s my opinion and to them it’s ok but to me they don’t deserve it. Even this year (2016) the Song of the year and Hiplife song of the year wasn’t given to the right artistes.”

He advised that in the next edition credible artistes who have worked hard should be awarded.

“For me I deserve many awards… I’m the best in my lane,” Luther added.

Luther who has been in the music business for the past 16 years is known for songs such as ‘We No Fear’, ‘Dormi Tamor S?? among others.
