Since we all believe that the entertainment industry is not well structured, we don’t get dumbfounded when we take notice of serious issues synonymous with this one.
In 2nd April 2000, there was a music trio called Asomafuor which was made up of three young gentlemen by names: Benjamin Asare popularly known as Zacchaeus, Selassie Owusu known as Lover and Andrews Opoku Frimpong known as Famous.
They were well – known for their hit song titled ‘Mina’ featuring Kofi Nti and K.K Fosu in 2006. They also had songs with some artistes like Screwface, OD4 now Kofi Marvelous and many others.
In an exclusive interview with one of the members of the group Selassie Owusu also known as Lover, he said moving away from the entertainment scene has got to do with an illness that attacked him a year ago.
“If not by the grace of God, I would be dead by now because I have been sent to a lot of hospitals and churches but all were fruitless till I met this man of God called Apostle Richard Mireku. I got sick for seven months without doctors detecting the kind of sickness, almost every three days I was taken to the hospital," he said.
He continued, "I have been to Cocoa Clinic, Korle-Bu, and the rest, but it hasn’t been easy for me and even though, I spent a lot of money, the Doctor told me they could not tell what really the illness was."
When asked if he took the sickness to the shrine to seek consultation as to what really is worrying him, he disclosed that “frankly, I have been to the shrine severally and visited Mallams before but when this peculiar case arose, I had not been to the oracle to consult what was really wrong. It had been a church to church till I got healed."
Finding out what was the cause of his illness if he was told by the man of God he said, “Yes he told me but for the sake of spiritual works, I am careful about that.”
Lover added that what he can do in return for what Christ has done for him is to evangelize from time to time, “I can now say I am evangelist because I am set to devote my time for the word of God and disseminate the information to the people out there who have not yet received Christ to do so.”
He disclosed to Flex newspaper that Asomafuor group that was initially three was reduced to two when one of their members, Zacchaeus died three years ago.
