Musician Ofori Amponsah’s sudden turn from Highlife into gospel ministry and back to Highlife music has been met with mixed reactions.
Soon after releasing his comeback tune with Sarkodie titled ‘Alewa‘, he earned the nickname Pastor Alewa a name which many have been trolling him with on social media and on showbiz circles.
The ace Highlife singer sat in an interview with Hammer Nti, host of Hammer Time on Pure ‘95.7fm and revealed that he lost many friends after making a U-turn from Gospel ministry to the commercial music scene. He also reacted to the comments passed by one time Ghanaian rapper Lord Kenya now turned evangelist who had stated in an interview that Ofori Amponsah needed prayers in a reaction to his sudden U-turn to circular music.
He revealed that the former hiplife artiste ignored him when they met in Holland and feels he [Ofori Amponsah] needs prayers stating that Lord Kenya needs more prayers than he does indicating that his major problem with the Church is hypocrisy.
“Lord Kenya needs more prayers than I do I met him in Holland and I said hello to him but he ignored me and this is some of the hypocrisy I’m talking about. Unfortunately these things exist in the church.”
