New York-based Ghanaian Afropop and R&B singer Ded Buddy, also known as Qwesi, says there is disunity in the Ghanaian music industry lately.

In recent times, artistes like VVIP, Tinny, Tic Tac and others have complained bitterly that some of the young artistes do not acknowledge their hard work.

According to them, the young crop of musicians are disrespecting them, a situation that has caused some misunderstanding between some musicians.

In a conversation with JoyNews’ Doreen Avio, Ded Buddy, known for hit song ‘Saa’, said some young artistes have no respect for veterans who worked hard to build the music industry.

He, however, singled out young artistes such as Kuami Eugene, Kidi and Kurl Songx and commended them for their humility and respect as young musicians.

“There is a lot of disrespect now, we didn’t have that before, back then were together, we will go to a show and you will see VIP performing with Ded Buddy, we are always together but now there is nothing like that in the industry, it’s all about selfishness and backbiting, meanwhile we are supposed to be together but we are not doing that,” he said.
