Leonora Okine opens up

Actress Leonora Okine, who plays “Malaika” in the MTV-funded television series Shuga has told enewsgh.com she hopes it will expose her craft to a wider audience.

“With the very wide distribution, many more film makers/film and TV lovers will notice the Leonora Okine brand. Hopefully, I won’t get typecast as a result of the part I play. BUT YES, I expect Shuga to have a positive impact on my career as an actor,” she’s told enewsgh.com.

Getting to be part of the Shuga cast Miss Okine says was a dream come true, and an “inspiring experience.”

“The Shuga set was very professionally and effectively run and yet very comfortable to be a part of. The crew was very easy to work with. Fortunately, all the actors were looking forward to an enjoyable experience so it was very easy to form close bonds right from the start. It was an incredibly inspiring experience.”

Okine is excitedly upbeat about 2014, and which further doors of opportunity it would open for me. She’s worked on some productions, some of which may hit cinemas in the coming months.

Married to the Game, KPIANS and JAGA JAGA are three of the productions she’s worked on.

“There are three other film projects whose titles may change but will be released next year as well. Few projects have been planned for next year so we will see how it all goes,” she adds.
