Afrobeat singer Feli Luna has disclosed leaving Lynx Entertainment, managed by Richmond Mensah, is the best decision she has ever taken in her music career.
Feli Luna, who was formerly signed to Lynx Entertainment, said she and the firm amicably parted ways after she realised the record company could not give her the creative direction she wanted.
“It was very mutual, very amicable with no issues. And the reason why I left is because I needed to know my creative direction and I was not too cool with the creative direction that Lynx was giving me. At that time, I wanted a platform to do music and grow but unfortunately that was not what I had at Lynx, so I just had to take some time off. Richie was cool and understanding,” she said in an interview with Bismark Boachie (DJ Premier) on Entertainment Capital on Accra100.5FM on Saturday, 17 June.
She continued that although it was tough initially, saying goodbye to Lynx has been the best thing she has done so far.
“Parting ways with them and being alone is the best decision I ever made. During those times, it was hard, it was trying, because you don’t know where your next move is coming from and during that time too you see people on TV, you hear people on radio, they are doing music and you feel you can do the same and even more or better and it eats into your soul. But you have to be strong in the decision that you’ve taken and work on yourself and it was very great for me. That’s the time I found Feli Luna. I was confident as Feli Luna and it was great. At that time I met my current record label, Bee Hyve Entertainment, and everything just fell into place and so I feel it was the best decision I ever made,” she stated.
Feli Luna is out with a new single she calls Afromagic.
