Kyeiwaa Is The Name Of My Dog - Confidence

Evicted Ghanaian Big Brother housemate, Confidence Haugen’s two dogs, are probably the most popular animals presently, not just in Ghana but all over Africa for several reasons.

Whiles in the Big Brother “Heads” house, Confidence made mention of her dogs more frequently than any of her family members, workers, friends...for the seven weeks of her stay in the house.

She, at a point in time, visibly shed tears in the chat room because she missed her dogs, and she also made sure every housemate knew she had some adorable canine friends.

Confidence, who arrived in Ghana last Wednesday June 15, 2011, was eager to see her dogs when she touched down at the Kotoka International Airport. The Aphrodisiac Night Club CEO’s profuse love and care for her dogs has raised several eyebrows and it is safe to assume the whole world would want to see the famous dogs.

Peacefmonline.com sought to find out from the Aphrodisiac Diva the lowdown on her dogs and she disclosed that the relationship between her and the dogs is very mutual.

"I am the only one who knows and understands the dogs well and they also love and care about me equally. A lot of people wonder why I was so worried about my dogs even much more than my son. I love my son very much. Of course I miss my son. Which mother will not miss her son in this situation but he is growing! My son is old enough to say he is hungry or sick; he can speak out and say what is wrong with him or ask for help when I am not around, but the dogs can’t talk and they can’t ask anyone for help when they are sick or hungry. Its either you are a dog lover or you are not, it is not everyone who likes dogs but I love dogs,” Confidence revealed on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review”.

She said another reason why she loves her dogs is because of their names.

"The two brown dogs are Kyeiwaa (the fluffy one who is about four months old) and the other one is 9 year old Duchi, (the cutie)," she added.

Asked why she gave those names to her canine friends, (Rose Akua Ataa or Kyeiwaa is a popular Ghanaian actress who mainly stars in local language movies and played the lead role as a witch in the movie titled “Kyeiwaa” part 1-13), Confidence proudly stated, “I Love Kyeiwaa to the point that, I had to name my dog after her. Kyeiwaa is a fabulous woman and she is my number one movie star in Ghana period!”

She also stated at her welcome press conference at the Golden Tulip Hotel on Thursday, June 16, 2011, that anytime she is out of the country and she has to watch a Ghanaian movie, it either has to be a Kyeiwaa movie or nothing else, adding that she really missed watching Kyeiwaa movies when she was in the BBA house.

"It wasn’t just the dogs...I missed my son, my friends, my workers, my family, I just missed Ghana. I missed home. Thank God I am now home to see everybody that I missed; but yes of course I love my dogs,” Confidence reiterated.

Confidence's last day in the Big Brother Amplified "Heads" house Confidence, who is still fresh from the Big Brother Amplified house described the whole BBA experience as a big "psychological game".

“We were selected from 14 different African countries and put into one house with cameras and microphones everywhere. Big Brother acts as God and dictates when we take our shower, when we have to wake up, when we have to eat and told us virtually what to do”.

According to her, she initially felt she would have problems with Big Brother himself, but it rather surprisingly turned out that it was her housemates who decided to pick issues with her.

“Big Brother really knows how to play the puzzle game...in his contract he states that he can change the rules anytime...so Biggie, I have a lot of respect for that man...but the people in the house were not genuine and I felt there was something wrong...I would have been so disappointed, if what I was feeling in there was wrong, because I felt these people (housemates) did not want me in there because they disliked me, they despised me and they made certain utterances that I heard which I didn’t like. But I knew I had a lot of people back home who love me a lot so I would rather come home to those who love me and leave them in the house”.

She said she was overwhelmed with the rousing welcome accorded her on her arrival, adding that she has never regretted going into the BBA house or felt sorry for her behaviour in the house.

“I thank all my fans, all Ghanaians and the entire Ghanaian media and anybody out there who supported me and loved me for who I am. I thank everyone for their support”.

The official welcome party for Confidence is coming off this Saturday 25th June 2011 at the Aphrodisiac Night in Accra. There will be a rotation of guest DJ’s and celebrities who will pass through to party with Confidence and her guests.

Confidence is also set to launch her own TV show, she will also launch a charity program on breast cancer awareness, she is currently the face of DSTV Mobile, and according to her, she is going to take night clubbing in Ghana to another level.

She has promised to bring all her Big Brother Amplified housemates to her night club.
