Popular and powerful Ghanaian fetish priest, Nana Kwaku Bonsam has joined the thousands talking about radio DJs and 'payola' as many musicians think is a big headache to them in their career.

'Payola' is a term which means an informal way by which some musicians use to push their ways through by paying some amount of money to a DJ just to promote his song on the airwaves for him.

The 'Kofi oo Kofi' priest in an interview with DJ Premiere on Accra FM last weekend said the gods will never take it easy with a DJ who deceives a musician on the issue of payola when the former fails the latter, if the gods are called upon.

"If a musician pays money for you to play his music and you fail to do so, when the person calls on the gods, you will be punished. Once the person pays the money, you have to play his music. If you fail to do so and the person calls on the gods, you will never go unpunished."

The issue of payola has been a talk of town along the week as many musicians are complaining about as a practice killing their carreer, especially those who do not have money to get themselves through. Some also say they pay and the DJs do not play as agreed.

Nana Kwaku Bonsam is a household name in Ghana as a very powerful and outspoken fetish priest.
