Kwaisey Pee was ill-informed – MUSIGA

The Head of Communications and Special Projects of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Ahuma Bosco Ocansey known in showbiz circles as Daddy Bosco has indicated that the union has been very instrumental in holding series of discussions to resolve Charter House Ghana’s GHC10m lawsuit against dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale over defamatory videos posted on the internet.

Speaking on the Brunch2Lunch show on Radio Universe, Daddy Bosco noted that the consideration to opt for an out of court settlement bears testimony to the union’s hard yet untrumpeted work in seeking an out of court settlement.

Earlier, Highlife musician, Kwaisey had asked his colleagues to boycott next year’s Ghana Music Awards which is organized by Charter House with support from MUSIGA, partly because the union did nothing to address the issue through dialogue resulting in the court case. He further expressed his dissatisfaction with the award scheme asserting that the award is presented to favourites who tow the organiser’s line.

However, Daddy Bosco countering the claims revealed that MUSIGA did its very best behind closed doors except that Charter House had adopted to go to court.

He told show host Abrantepa: “when the union takes a decision on a sensitive matter like this, we do not go round publicizing it. So if our members want to talk about the union, they should find out what the union has done about an issue they want to comment on. If they do not find out yet make any statement, then it looks like you are ill-informed. In this case, Kwaisey Pee was ill-informed”.
