Ghanaian Afrobeat singer, Kojo Blak, has revealed the distinctive way of naming his EPs and why they are in numbers
Speaking on Hitz FM, the singer said he names his EPs after the particular time at which the last song on the EP is recorded
Music is spiritual; it's something only your spirit can transcribe – Kojo Blak
“I just like to keep the record of the last song I recorded and the time I finish is what I use. So with the 757 Ep, there’s a song there called 757, which is the time I finished that song, at 7:57 pm . Same with the 131 EP, which I finished at 1:31 am” He stated, citing both his 757 and 131 EPs as examples.
He added, that is his way of being unique, rather than following the traditional approach where artistes name their EPs after something significant to them.
“I wouldn’t say am too different but I don’t want to be in the same phase as every artistes naming their Eps with special names, I just want to keep the record of the song I’ve recorded, “he stated.
The ‘Excellent’ hitmaker further stated that perhaps an album will be different but he believes the names of his EPs will remain so.
