Actor, artist and filmmaker, Charles Kofi Bucknor who died in Accra on Tuesday, May 23, will be buried on Friday, June 30, at the Asokyeano Cemetery in Cape Coast. He was 64.

Family sources have indicated that wake will be kept for him on Thursday, June 29, from 8.00pm at his residence, Teshie-Nungua Estates in Accra. Pre-burial and burial services will be held on Friday, June 30, at 7.00am at the Christ the King Catholic Church, near Flagstaff House in Accra.

Born in Cape Coast in 1953, the late Bucknor attended St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast, the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) and the School of Communication Studies at the University of Ghana, Legon.

Though he majored in Cinematography at NAFTI, acting was his passion and he appeared in numerous films including Heritage Africa, Run Baby Run, Elmina, Double Silver Rain, Chronicles of Odumkrom: The Headmaster, African Timber, Never Say Never and No Time To Die.

The late Bucknor worked at various times with Film Africa, Focal Point Productions and Fontomfrom TV. He was also a former Director of Television at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.

Funeral rites will be held for him on Saturday, July 1, from midday at Unique Floral Palace, Trade Fair Centre at La in Accra. A thanksgiving service will come off on Sunday, July 2, at 9.00a.m at St Anthony’s Catholic Church, Nungua, near Nungua Cold Store to be followed by a reception at the GNAT Hostel, Teshie-Nungua.
