Kofi Asamoah, CEO of Kofas Media has told Zionfelix.com that his production house is ready to face anybody who wants take them on for their yet-to-be-released movie, “Amakye & Dede”.
Report has it that highlife legend, Abrantie Amakye Dede is not happy that producers and casts of the movie have not contacted him yet about the name “Amakye & Dede” used for their movie.
The movie director in the interview on Thursday morning said neither his production house nor casts of the movie have stepped on any toe with the title of the movie. According to him, the name “Amakye & Dede” was used because of the characters in the movie.
“The movie title has nothing to do with any musician. It is not like we used his song or anything, the title of the movie was chosen based on the characters in the film. We don’t think that we owe anybody permission or any explanation on how we choose a title for our movie. We are ready to go to court if he says that we are using his name or his brand identity. We as KOFAS Media or Production Company are ready to meet him in court.”
KOFAS added that he would treat the issue as rumour since nobody has officially called him from the musician’s camp to complain about the movie title.
I don’t want to say much about this issue so let’s wait, if it so happens then we know what to do. Until then we will still treat it as rumour and continue working.
He disclosed that Majid Michel and Kalybos are not worried about the rumour.
“After the shoot last night, myself, Majid, Kalybos other casts were discussing the matter. We all saw it online and shared same idea as I’ve stated earlier.”
Shooting for “Amakye & Dede” has ended. The movie which budget is $26,000 premieres on March 26.
