Popular Ga dialect singer and self-acclaimed Rythm styler King Jerry has vowed to quit doing Ga dialect songs if traditional rulers don’t intervene in the music industry. According to him, Individuals who chose to do Ga dialect songs never came through the limelight as Ghanaians always expect hip-hop and hiplife songs.

Speaking in an interview on “Showbiz Agenda” on Zylofon FM 102.1, he stressed out that artistes who do music in the Ga dialect are sidelined and sabotaged in the music industry, saying they are always left out of names of artistes billed to perform at shows. “Individuals doing Ga songs are sidelined and hidden. We are not called for shows but what they only do is to sabotage us. That was what they did to Adane Best and Tinny. I always say the Ga traditional rulers Should come in and help us in the music industry else I will stop doing Ga songs. All that people want is for you to do hip-pop and hiplife but if you are doing Ga songs, you are always sabotaged and sidelined” he revealed.

King Jerry further disclosed to the host Sammy Flex that he looked up to the late hiplife star Castro when he was an upcoming artiste and most at times, his songs are not written. According to King Jerry, no one else is of the standard to replace late Castro in the music industry except him that’s why many have hidden his works. “Sammy! It`s talent and I looked up to Castro when I was an upcoming artiste. Nobody can replace him except me that’s why I have been sidelined and hidden. Ghanaians know very well that I’m the only person who can replace Castro! They don’t call me for shows because they know there is a talent that can replace Castro! I don’t write songs but I can record a full album here if this were to be a studio” he added.

The Ga composer also revealed how lack of management has affected his music career, saying he could have been bigger if he had better management. He disclosed that he will break through the limelight if he gets Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and rap heavyweight Sarkodie on a track. “I can do better if I get better management. Any amount of albums they want within a year, I can do it. If I get Sarkodie, Stonebwoy or Shatta Wale on my song, I’m gone! I will become big” he stressed.

Furthermore, he pointed out that he is ready to sing chorus for any artiste who approaches him without charging a fee, provided he fills up his car. In addition to this, he exposed some big artistes in the industry who have recorded songs with him but have refused to release it. “I have featured big artistes in the music industry but they have refused to release it because they know King Jerry will hit. I wouldn’t mention names but those artistes are world-known artistes. Some too have released theirs but others have refused to release theirs” he fumed.
