Kikoriko Restaurant to offer training in catering to school leavers

Accra, Jan. 15, GNA - Kikoriko Restaurant and Guest House in Accra is to offer training to junior high and vocational school graduates in cooking and catering. Nana Owusu Ansaah II, Chief Executive of the restaurant and guest house, who announced this to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Friday, said Junior High School leavers, who could not continue their education were the main target. He said such people would be provided the needed skills in cooking, especially of local cuisines and dishes in order to take advantage of the growing hospitality industry. Nana Owusu Ansah, who is also the Gyimakyihene of Kokofu in the Ashanti Region, said vocational school students offering catering and cooking could learn and specialize in local cuisines and dishes from his establishment. He said besides, ensuring that people live long by eating local good food the trained students would contribute their quota by promoting tourism. "Ghanaians will be providing ready market for the country's farmers and help the development of the nation's agriculture and socio-economic advancement of the nation", Nana Ansah II added.
