Jon Germaine, Okyeame Kwame for Glitz Fashion Week

Music icons, Okyeame Kwame, Gina West and Jon Germaine, will join other entertainers to fire up the 2013 edition of the Glitz Africa Fashion Week (GAFW), from November 6 to November 10, 2013, organisers have said,.

According to Mrs. Claudia Lumor of Glitz Africa, this year’s African fashion showpiece will present more panache.

“There will be 50 runway shows, insightful seminars, exhibitions, parties happening with over 70 international models, top Pan-African designers and fashionistas who will showcase hundreds of creative fashion trends,” she pointed out.

The week-long celebrations start with a cocktail party at the Alisa Hotel on Wednesday, November 6. From the 7th to the 9th there will be runway shows, seminars, fashion exhibition, themed-after parties, VIP-style lounge, Samsung media lounge etc at the Accra International Conference Centre. On November 10, Alisa Hotel will host runway designers’ pop-up shops.

Mrs. Lumor told The Mirror in a chat that arrangements for visiting personalities to feel at home in Ghana during the event had been concluded.

Top models have been selected and media publicity has also been boosted to ensure that the show makes the needed impact in the Ghanaian and international fashion arenas.

The event, which made its debut last year, provides a unique platform for the African fashion industry to showcase its talent, network and celebrate its diversities.

Apart from the exhibitions, seminars and runway show, the event will be climaxed by the Fashion Week Awards and the Theme after Party.

The Glitz Africa Fashion Week is presented by GLITZ AFRICA MAGAZINE and sponsored by The Mirror, Samsung, Amarula, Vlisco, Alisa Hotel, Oak Plaza Hotel, Blacksecret make-up and MVP.
