Joey B and Vision DJ Joey B and Vision DJ

Joey B and Vision DJ’s new songs, U & Me and Grind, were as of Tuesday Ghana’s most searched songs on Shazam, an application linked to iTunes.

Both songs came after Don’t Mind, a song by American artist, Kente Jones, which is leading the search in Ghana.

While Joey B’s song was second, Vision’s was third and he became the first Ghanaian DJ to hold that spot in less than two weeks after his song was released.

The rest of the songs on the list included Hold Up by Beyonce and Panda by Desiigner, in that order.

Joey B released his song early May 2016 while DJ Vision released his on June 8, 2016. Both songs are also doing very well on radio.

Vision, after releasing the song, said he wanted to create a distinctive rhythm for Ghana’s music industry.

“I am trying to set a trend; it is not the same old highlife. I want to create a different sound to Ghana music and also create a different trend all over again. You know people have been doing hip-hop but I am trying to do a different hip-hop or different sound like afro hip-hop. Yeah, something like that,” he said.

Born Aboagye Essah Francis, there is no doubt that Vision has solidified his influence in Ghana’s music as a good artiste, aside being a vibrant DJ.
