Janet Jackson Bears Breast

JANET MAKES NET HISTORY The scandal over the flash of Janet Jackson's boob at the Super Bowl has become the most searched event in the history of the internet, according to search engine Lycos. On Monday, the day after the event, Janet Jackson received 60 times as many searches as the Paris Hilton sex tape and 80 times more than Britney Spears. Jackson's breast was bared when fellow performer Justin Timberlake ripped off her bodice during a half-time performance in front of almost 100 million television viewers. Lycos said the event had beaten the record for the most searched event over a one-day period - a position previously held by the September 11 attack on America. It was also one of the most watched moments in American TV history, according to digital recording company TiVo. "The close of Timberlake and Jackson's half time duet drew the biggest spike in audience reaction TiVo has ever measured", the company, that was formed in 1997, said. The company said viewership spiked up to 180 per cent as television audiences at home used, paused and replayed the incident. Jackson, Timberlake, CBS and half-time show producers MTV have all apologised for the spectacle. Jackson said the stunt had been planned only after rehearsals, that MTV had no knowledge of it and that it went too far. Jackson and Timberlake will appear at next week's Grammy Awards despite the scandal, officials have said. But the broadcast will be delayed to weed out any more surprises. The move by CBS came after the powerful Federal Communications Commission launched an inquiry into the scandal that stunned American audiences.
