A veteran Film Producer cum Director Rev. Samuel Akwasi Nyamekye of Miracle Films has dismissed reports making rounds that the entire film industry in Kumasi has endorsed President John Dramani Mahama candidature ahead of the November polls.

The speculation emerged after the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, couple of month ago met some movie makers at Jofel Restaurant in Kumasi to brief them on measures the government is putting in place to upgrade the standard of the industry.

After the said meeting, reports started flying that the industry players in the region have allegedly endorsed President John Mahama and would be part of his campaign trail.

But, Rev. Samuel Nyamkye said, they had not made any such endorsement.

“Our work cuts across; we make everybody joyful through our movies irrespective of the political affiliation. We haven’t endorsed any political party, and I don’t think is perfect for us to do such things", he stated.

He said it's unwise for filmmakers to endorse a political party or presidential candidate.

Mr. Nyamekye in series of radio interviews in Kumasi stated he is highly disappointed in the film makers who have endorsed presidential candidates of political parties
